5 Atlanta Coffee Shops That Are Great For Getting Things Done

If you haven’t already guessed by now, we’re BIG coffee lovers. Whether it’s a fresh filter coffee first thing in the morning to get things moving, or a mid-afternoon mocha to keep the creative juices flowing, nothing gets us motivated like the caffeinated good stuff.

Lucky for us, Atlanta is packed with some of the best independent coffee shops and we’ve listed 5 of them to give you some inspiration for your next go-to “get stuff done” spot. And don’t get us wrong, it wasn’t exactly easy to put this list together as there are so many great coffee places in the city, this is just a snapshot of what this wonderful city has to offer.

So, what makes a great coffee shop for working in?

A great question! There’s a difference between a coffee shop you’d visit to catch up with a friend in, and one where you can get a lot of good work done:

  • Well decorated and interesting to get creativity flowing.
  • Lots of different, comfortable seating options – for hardcore solo work, or one-to-one brainstorming.
  • Plenty of outlets for charging up laptops and phones, and WiFi
  • Good drinks menu (for fuel!)
  • Well-lit – after all you don’t want to be straining to see your work!

With that in mind, let’s get started:

Chattahoochee Coffee Company – Westside

4335 Huff Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

Chattahoochee Coffee Company has one of the coolest vibes of any coffee shop in the city – it’s a bit like stepping into the hippest lodge you’ve ever seen. It ticks so many of our “ideal workspace” boxes, from large tables perfect for collaborating to smaller individual tables, lots of outlets, and it’s really chill and quiet so the perfect atmosphere for focusing. And besides making a killer latte and having very friendly staff, you can also catch a few rays while you work at their outdoor area when the weather permits!

Revelator – Westside

691 14th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

Warm up in the winter light.

A totally different vibe this time with minimalist, clean décor that makes the most of all the wonderful natural light that pours into the shop. Revelator also has lots of good options for seating while you’re working, and combined with a tasty food menu and simple – but brilliant – drinks list, you really can’t go wrong setting up shop here for a few hours.

Taproom Coffee – Kirkwood

R106, 1963 Hosea L Williams Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30317

Now we don’t just love Taproom Coffee for the name – although we do love it! – but also for its sleek, chic décor and friendly atmosphere. Not only do you have your pick of different seating – from a large community area to individual tables to sitting up at the bar – but you’ll also find some of our favorite coffee from Atlanta’s own East Pole Coffee. And when you’re done working, be sure to grab a beer – they have a great local craft beer selection!

Land of a Thousand Hills – Midtown

715 Peachtree St NW Suite 101, Atlanta, GA 30308

For somewhere with a comfy, industrial feel, check out this awesome Midtown shop attached to a co-working space. That attachment isn’t just handy for the people who work in the space; it also gives it a great energetic atmosphere. You’ll feel motivated just by all the other people working! With lots of natural light, fast WiFi, and some of the tastiest cappuccinos around, it won’t take you long to shrink your to-do list.

Press and Grind – Virginia Highland

992 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30306

We love the atmosphere and décor in Press and Grind – modern typography meets cute cabin, and of course filled with the smell of fresh ground coffee. The staff are welcoming, there’s plenty of seating, and it has a great food and drink menu. If you’re over-caffeinated, then try one of their fresh, tasty smoothies for a boost.
